Love to Read English
Description:
"Love to Read" is a fun way to introduce children to reading. The alphabet is animated in stop-motion using simple, home-based materials such as noodles, paper and buttons.

Review:
This brief DVD consistently provides 30-minutes of guilt free distraction for my two daughters, ages 1 and 4. The 4-year-old shows off by shouting out the images associated with each letter ("Airplane!" for A), and the 1-year-old is happy to shout nonsense alongside her. My husband and son appreciate the "how-to" chapter for making your own stop frame animated movie, and were inspired to try it for a school book report. All in all, a fun while-you're-eating-breakfast-cereal sort of DVD.

With an eco-friendly approach to animation, Viva Design Inc. has used recycled household materials in its first Love to Read DVD series for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. The stop-motion animation of Love to Read is produced by a sequence of photographs with engaging images. Designed to inspire a child’s creativity and desire to read, the animated alphabet and words have a handmade quality. Viva Design Inc. transformed coffee cups, tissue boxes, licorice, rice, chips, vegetables, and sponges into playful characters and letter animations. As a result, the look of the Love to Read DVD is more organic than other children’s reading products.

Forty minutes in length, the Love to Read DVD includes a 12-minute alphabet that starts with “A for airplane.” It features a queen, robots, traffic, yoga, and ends with “Z for zoo.” More than 7,200 photographs were required just for this alphabet. My son just loves everything to do with letters. Everywhere we go, he is calling out letters he can see! He has even started to spell words. Each week, I find he knows how to spell a new word! It is amazing since he is only 3 as of the end of June. I was contacted to review the 1st DVD from the Love To Read series called “Alphabets & English Words”. My son does love movies, so I of course said yes! We tend to visit family often, which an hour away, so he gets to watch his movies on the way down and back. I popped in this DVD and his eyes were glued until the end. Through out the movie new words are shown and my son would repeat them! The video teaches all the letters and a word to go along with each letter! The video is made using items all around the house. I found that to be pretty neat to look at! They make objects and words out of Coffee Cups, beads, rice, and so much more. I am hoping my son will learn some new words as well as how to saw W. He just says it in a really long funny way! (as he says double woo woo woo). This is a great DVD to use to teach your kiddos the Alphabet in a fun way! This DVD is for Ages 2+ and runs for 40 minutes. The price is $18.95 but right now you can get it for $14.95. You can head on over HERE to see a bit of the DVD!

I recently received a DVD to review which focuses on engaging a child's desire to read. It's targeted towards the 1-6 year old audience. The company behind this, Viva Design Inc, has won and been nominated for Emmys, New York Festival, BDA, Omni Awards, Type Directors' Club Award, and Art Director's Club Award.
This is a really cute DVD and I love all of the graphics. It starts off by going through the Alphabet and showing corresponding graphics.
